Richard Dreyfuss Brings Back Civics

In a Providence Journal Article, Academy Award-winning actor and activist Richard Dreyfuss has embarked on an initiative to re-educate American youth on Civics. “Don't call it 'civics' because 'civics' is easily the most boring word in America,' Dreyfuss says. “'Call it what it is: political power.” Through the Dreyfuss Initiative non-profit, he seeks to “give children real-world knowledge, and hopefully wisdom, about how to run this complex governance system.”

The Dreyfuss Initiative will use educational video presentations featuring Dreyfuss as a storyteller and he will be working closely with civic and educational groups to promote the Initiative and accompanying curriculum.
