Carol Leifer Joins Cast of Celebrity Apprentice

Comedian Carol Leifer, who has heard a lot of “You’re hired!” from people like Jerry Seinfeld and Ellen DeGeneris as a much in-demand and award-winning writer and producer, may hear “You’re fired!” from Donald Trump on the hit NBC series Celebrity Apprentice

Among those joining Leifer in the new season’s cast will be Sharon Osbourne, Cyndi Lauper, Darryl Strawberry and former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Celebrity Apprentice is just one piece of Leifer's soon to be television explosion. Also in the works is Mouthpiece, a half-hour comedy for Showtime, and CBS has ordered Leifer’s script for a half-hour sitcom tentatively titled You and Me and He. The project, partly based on her own experiences, centers around a recently divorced woman who enters a gay relationship only to find out that she is pregnant with her ex-husband's baby. In real life, Leifer came out as a lesbian when she was 40, ten years after her divorce, and has an adopted son with her partner.
