Hikers Imprisoned in Iran Speak at University of Alabama-Birmingham
APB was proud to bring the three American hikers who were imprisoned in Iran—Sarah Shourd, Shane Bauer, and Josh Fattal—to a college in Birmingham, Alabama, where they discussed their horrifying ordeal and the joy of their new-found freedom.
This event marks the first time that Shourd, Bauer, and Fattal—who were captured in July 2009 while hiking behind a tourist site in Iraqi Kurdistan—have spoken together in front of a college audience. Shourd was freed in September 2010; Fattal and Bauer were freed in September 2011.
