Remembering Jaime Escalante 1930-2010

Jaime Escalante, the celebrated educator portrayed in the film Stand and Deliver, passed away on Tuesday, March 30. The American Program Bureau is proud to have represented Escalante as a speaker for more than twenty years as he shared his story, inspiring educators, students and individuals to push themselves to achieve greatness.

Always humble, Escalante once professed, "I'm just a math teacher," but to those he taught he was so much more. His persistent, challenging and highly inspirational teaching methods changed the lives of his students, and their shared story has motivated countless others.
