In what many would call the embodiment of a classic American rags-to-riches tale, Parsons rose from humble working-class origins in Brooklyn to become Chairman and CEO of Time Warner, senior advisor at Providence Equity Partners and, most recently, Chairman of Citigroup. In 2011, Bloomberg Businessweek called him "Captain Emergency" for his uncanny ability to steer organizations to success amidst troubled times.
Having advised polar opposites on the political spectrum – from Presidents Richard Nixon to Barack Obama – on economic matters, Parsons is a vital resource in understanding the nation's current economic state.
