Dennis Lehane

Dennis Lehane is a best-selling author from Dorchester, Boston whose novels Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone, and Shutter Island have been made into hit movies garnering numerous awards.

Since his first novel, A Drink Before the War, won the Shamus Award, Lehane has published eight novels that have become international bestsellers: Darkness, Take My Hand; Sacred; Gone Baby Gone; Prayers for Rain; Mystic River; Shutter Island; The Given Day; and Moonlight Mile. He also published Coronado, a collection of five stories and a play.

Mystic River was a finalist for the PEN/Winship Award and won both the Anthony Award and the Barry Award for Best Novel and the Massachusetts Book Award in Fiction.

Lehane has an MFA from Florida International University and is the writer-in-residence at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he runs the Writers in Paradise writers' conference.
