A schoolboy's dream, a competitor's challenge. Donald J. Trump is the very definition of a success story, continually setting the standards of excellence while expanding his interests in real estate, gaming, sports, and entertainment. But the star of NBC's hit show, The Apprentice, is not just another flash-in-the-pan reality star, "The Donald" was an icon long before his primetime debut. Father knows best, Trump did indeed seem to turn things to gold. Today in Manhattan, several world-renowned buildings bear Trump's name including: Fifth Avenue Skyscraper, Trump Tower, Trump Parc, Trump Palace, Trump Plaza, 610 Park Avenue, The Trump World Tower, and Trump Park Avenue. Trump also owns 3 hotel/casino's in Atlantic City (the only 5-star 5-diamond rated ones too). In what was considered to be one of the best real estate deals of the last 25 years, Trump once took an empty building, and built it into the Trump Building at 40 Wall Street which is now 100% leased to tenants such as American Express and Bear Stearns.
Trump also owns multiple golf clubs nationwide and is a partner with NBC in the Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants. Recently, he purchased the largest parcel of land in California, which fronts the Pacific Ocean for almost two miles.
In an example of pure business savvy, he rebuilt the Wollman Skating Rink in Central Park. The city had been trying to accomplish the same feat for seven years prior to Trump stepping in and he managed to finish the project in three months and at 10% of the city's $20 million cost.
A native of New York City and a graduate of the Wharton School of Business, Trump is also the author of five books and three best-sellers including: The Art of the Deal, Surviving at the Top, The Art of the Comeback, The America We Deserve, and How to Get Rich: Big Deals from the Star of The Apprentice.
