Giancarlo Esposito

This extremely versatile actor has over 50 film credits to his name, an equally impressive list of television credits, and a well-respected and award-winning stage background. He was featured in Michael Mann's Ali, starring Will Smith, and Ash Tuesday with Janeane Garafalo and Tony Goldwyn.

Esposito has made indelible imprints on several Spike Lee films: Do the Right Thing, School Dave, Mo' Better Blues and Malcolm X. He has also been featured in such films as Pinero opposite Benjamin Bratt, Monkeybone opposite Brendan Frazer, Twilight opposite Paul Newman, Nothing to Lose, The Usual Suspects, Fresh, and Waiting to Exhale. Esposito also starred in Jim Jarmusch's Night on Earth, Tim Robbins's Bob Roberts and Wayne Wang's Smoke and Blue in the Face. Early feature films include Taps, Amos and Andrew, and King of New York.

On television, he recently starred as the captain on Steven Bochco's futuristic pilot, NYPD: 2069. Last season he was the head of a law firm in the David E. Kelley series Girls Club for FOX-TV. Prior to that he was the head of a Wall Street brokerage firm in Darren Star's FOX series, The $treet and played Mike Giardello on the critically acclaimed NBC drama, Homicide: Life in the Street. Esposito also starred in the highly acclaimed FOX series, Bakersfield P.D. , has made numerous guest appearances, and has been featured in several NCB and Showtime movies.

Esposito's Broadway credits include a starring role in Sacrilege with Ellen Burstyn, plus performances in eight musicals. He has also appeared in many off-Broadway productions, including Trafficking in Broken Hearts at the Atlantic Theater Company. He has won two coveted Obie Awards for his performances in Distant Fires and Zooman and the Sign.

In addition to his acting career, Esposito produced and starred in The Keeper, which debuted to rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival. He also directed and produced Linda St. John's one-woman show, "Even Dogs Go Home to Die," at the Atlantic Theater Company and the Aldrich Museum, and directed Gregory Hines for Joy2Learn, a nonprofit creative arts children's project. Currently, he is developing several film projects under the auspices of his company, LYRALYN PRODUCTIONS. His newest project is the movie Gospel Hill, for which he is writer, producer, director, and actor.
