Gloria Borger

Gloria Borger joined CNN as a senior political analyst in 2007 and quickly became a regular, front-row panelist for all of CNN’s election coverage. In addition, she appears daily on The Situation Room, and is a frequent panelist on the Election Center, as well as on Anderson Cooper 360. She also appears frequently on Late Edition, CNN’s Sunday political show. In addition to her work on CNN, Borger is a contributing editor at US News & World Report where she writes the "On Politics" column. She also appears regularly on The Chris Matthews Show, as well as on Washington Week in Review on PBS.

Borger is a journalist-analyst--someone whose credibility comes from reporting both sides of every story. Her informed analysis has always been her hallmark, whether at CNN or at CBS News from 2005-2007 as its national political correspondent and as a contributor to CBS's Face the Nation and 60 Minutes. She was also the co-anchor of CNBC's Capital Report.

Borger began her professional career in 1976 as a reporter at the Washington Star where she covered politics and co-authored a daily serial, eventually published as a book, Federal Triangle, a parody about political life in Washington. Previously Borger was a Washington-based correspondent for Newsweek magazine where she worked as a general assignment reporter and then as chief congressional correspondent. Early in her career, Borger was awarded the Watson Traveling Fellowship to study the British press.
