Jerry Stiller

Jerry Stiller has amused audiences on Broadway, television, and film for over 50 years. His infamous portrayal of "Frank Costanza" on Seinfeld earned him the 1998 American Comedy Award for "Funniest Male Guest Appearance in a Television Series," as well as a nomination for a 1997 Emmy Award.

Stiller currently plays Arthur on the CBS series, King of Queens. He has starred in numerous Broadway plays, most notably Mike Nichols's "Hurlyburly," "The Ritz," and "The Golden Apple." He created the role of "Launce" in John Guare's and Galt McDermott's musical version of "The Two Gentlemen of Verona." Stiller co-starred with his son, Ben Stiller, in Shoeshine, which was nominated for an Academy Award in the 1998 Short Subject Category. Most recently, he has starred in the films On the Line, Servicing Sara, and Zoolander (which his son directed and starred in).

As Stiller and Meara, Jerry and his wife Anne were part of The Compass Players (later renamed Second City). The duo went on to create their own comedy act at David Gordon's Phase II. Stiller and Meara appeared on the Ed Sullivan show 36 times! They have written, performed, and produced award-winning radio commercials for companies including Blue Nun Wine, United Van Lines, and Amalgamated Bank. This May, they received the Productive Aging Award from the Jewish Council for the Aging in Washington, DC.

Stiller has been awarded numerous accolades; he was the first recipient of the annual George Burns Memorial Award as well as the Fourth Annual Alan King Award in American Jewish Humor. Stiller's reading of his autobiography, Married to Laughter, was even nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Spoken Word Album. It is clear that Stiller's voice and talent have effectively reached the masses, and that his popularity is still evident today.
