Jonathan Pond

Jonathan Pond has been the pioneer in bringing low-cost, personalized money guidance to American households through his lively and entertaining presentations.

In addition to being President of Financial Planning Information, Inc., of Boston and a CPA, Pond is also a successful financial author. He has written eleven books on personal financial planning, including "The New Century Family Money Book" which was described in Publisher's Weekly as "...an uncommonly far-reaching and clearly organized money manual," "1001 Ways to Cut Your Expenses," and the recently published "4 Easy Steps to Successful Investing." After selling over one million copies of his books, Pond is recognized as an outstanding writer by the Newsletter Writers Association and the American Society of Association executives.

Pond is widely sought as an objective and entertaining observer of the investing and personal financial planning scenes. He conducts hundreds of print, radio, and television interviews each year. He is a regular guest on numerous radio and TV talk shows, including regular interviews on NBC's "Today Show" and public television's "Nightly Business Report" (where he is the personal finance commentator) and appearances on national news segments on ABC, CBS, and CNBC. He has hosted three highly-acclaimed public television specials, including "Finding Financial Freedom," "Your Financial Future," and "Jonathan Pond's Tax Party." The last program won the gold medal at the Worldfest International Film Festival for its outstanding informational content.

Pond is the recipient of many awards including The Malcolm Forbes Public Awareness Award for Excellence in Advancing Financial Understanding, a Gold Medal at the Worldfest International Film Fesitival for a program on how individuals and families can benefit from the new tax rules, a Bronze Medal at the Houston International Film Festival for his program on coping with the financial challenges of the recession, and an Emmy Award for his contributions to a television series on a financial planning in the 21st century.

He was educated at the University of North Carolina, Emory University, and the Harvard Business School. Although he often says the key to financial success is never taking financial responsibility for anything that eats, Jonathan doesn't always practice what he preaches.
