Laila Ali

As the daughter of Muhammad Ali, the legendary former Heavyweight Champion of the World, her name was instantly a focus in the world of boxing. Laila Ali has proven that she is the best female boxer in the world, capturing four championship belts, earning the IBA, the WIBA, and the IWBF super middleweight championships.

The perfect role model for women today, Ali is a strong, bright, beautiful, and healthy woman. Recently showcasing her dancing skills, she danced her way to third place on the hit show Dancing with the Stars. Ali has also authored a motivational book, Reach!, written in an effort to help young women who may need to be inspired in life, using her own experiences and challenges as an example for her readers.

Ali took on a new role as co-host of the reality television show American Gladiators with wrestler Hulk Hogan. The show consists of everyday amateur athletes competing against action stars and stunt professionals in contests of physical strength and endurance.

A multi-talented entrepreneur, Ali owned and operated a nail salon in California before entering the boxing profession. She had earned her degree in business management at Santa Monica College, but after watching women's boxing on television for the first time, and growing up as a daughter of a boxing legend, she was ready to step in the ring. She hasn't looked back since.

A speaker on women's health, Ali is a true believer that in order to stay fit and looking good, you have to treat your body right by nourishing it with the right food, drink, exercise, and activity. She has always been a strong advocate of promoting women's and girls' involvement in sports and athletics and is currently part of the Women's Sports Foundation, the mission of which is to advance the lives of girls and women through sport and physical activity. Ali is also involved with UNIFEM'S Say NO to Violence Against Women campaign, a global Internet-based advocacy campaign to end violence against women.

Ali and her husband, Curtis, also lend their support to the campaign for Feeding America's Hunger Free Families. Ali also sits on the Board of California Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sport, and recently presented a $10,000 check to Overland Elementary School in honor of its commitment to creating a healthy, active school environment.
