Leif Enger
Leif Enger is the author of the best-selling, critically acclaimed debut novel, Peace Like a River, the quietly heroic story of small town Minnesota that perfectly captures the poetic, verbal stoicism of the northern Great Plains. The book is currently being made into a feature film starring Billy Bob Thornton.
A Minnesota native, Enger worked as a reporter and producer for the Minnesota Public Radio program “Mainstreet Radio” for 16 years before the success of Peace Like a River. He previously co-wrote five mystery novels about a retired baseball player named “Gun Pedersen” with his brother Lin under the pen name L.L. Enger.
He currently lives on a 56-acre tract that includes farmland and forest near Aitkin, Minnesota.
