Michael Isikoff
Michael Isikoff joined "Newsweek" as an investigative correspondent in June 1994, covering the Whitewater scandal and other national issues. He is a news analyst for MSNBC and a frequent guest of NBC's "Meet the Press" and PBS "Charlie Rose", as well as nationally-syndicated radio talk shows. Isikoff's exclusive reporting on the Monica Lewinsky scandal gained him nationwide attention in 1998, including profiles in "The New York Times" and "The Washington Post" and a guest appearance on the "Late Show with David Letterman".
Isikoff came to "Newsweek" from "The Washington Post", where he had been a reporter since September 1981. There he covered the Justice Department and the Persian Gulf War, reported on international drug operations in Latin America and worked on the "Post's" financial news desk. Before joining the "Post", he was a reporter with now-defunct "Washington Star".
Isikoff has been honored with a number of prestigious awards. He was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 1991 for a story on gun-trafficking and violence. He also won the Baltimore-Washington Newspaper Guild "Story of the Year" award in 1984 for a series on coal mining disasters in Virginia.
Isikoff graduated from Washington University with a B.A. in 1974 and received a Master's in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 1976.
