Vivica A. Fox
Vivica A. Fox has the enviable position of having a successful career in film as well as in television. From humble beginnings, Fox has gone on to appear in numerous movies and television shows. On television, she starred as an FBI agent in the hit Lifetime series, Missing, which she also produced. In movies, she has played the role of a female assassin in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, and on the other side of the spectrum, a fairy in the movie Ella Enchanted. Prior to these roles, she co-starred in Juwanna Mann, a lighthearted comedy about a male basketball player posing as a woman in order to play in the WNBA.
Fox graduated from Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California, with a degree in social services. Shortly thereafter she was discovered while eating lunch on Sunset Boulevard. It was at this point that Hollywood's spotlight began to shine upon her. Before long, she made her feature film debut in the blockbuster hit Independence Day, opposite Will Smith.
Fox headlined the hit comedy film, Two Can Play That Game, and has had significant roles in other feature films such as: Set it Off, Soul Food, Batman and Robin, Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Kingdom Come, Double Take, Teaching Mrs. Tingle, and Idle Hands.
On the small screen, she enjoyed success on Fox Network headlining in her own sitcom, Getting Personal. Her other television credits include the ABC sitcom, Arsenio, the NBC comedy Out All Night, The Young and the Restless, and City of Angels, to name a few. She has guest starred in such shows as Living Single, Family Matters, Matlock, Beverly Hills 90210, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and China Beach. As a producer, Fox filmed Shark City in Toronto and hosted her own VH1 reality series Glam God. She has since appeared on multiple shows, including The Wendy Williams Show.
Fox has received MTV Movie and NAACP Image Award nominations for her past performances. She and Will Smith won the MTV movie award for Best on Screen Kiss in Independence Day. She was also voted one of People magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People.”
