Kaplan speaks with humor and heart on making the lifestyle changes necessary for coping with cancer. Her speeches and interviews are always upbeat and enlightening about her personal journey as a "survivor thriver." She has been interviewed on many radio and TV programs throughout the USA and Canada. She has spoken at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Yawkey Center for Cancer Care in Boston, the American Cancer Society’s Celebration of Life, and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s March for the Cure. Recently, Kaplan designed and modeled two bras (named Mustang Sally and The Vegan) for Art Bra New Haven to be auctioned off at a benefit for the Smilow Cancer Center Patient’s Fund.
Kaplan’s life has taken on new dimensions and sailed to new heights since she wrote Laughter Is the Breast Medicine.
