TV/Movie Actor & Founder of Camp Firefly
Kirk Cameron is best known as a cultural icon of the 80’s for his memorable role as “Mike Seaver” on the hit show Growing Pains. More recently, he enjoyed much success with the #1 grossing inspirational film of 2008, Fireproof, and his record breaking, one night only live event, Monumental. Cameron is also known for his memorable roles on the Left Behind movies and co-host of The Way of the Master television series. He starred in a television reunion film, The Growing Pains Movie, in 2000, and another one, Growing Pains: Return of the Seavers, in 2004.
Additionally, Cameron reunited with the cast of Growing Pains for a CNN Larry King Live interview which aired on February 7, 2006, in conjunction with the Warner Bros. release of the complete first season of Growing Pains on DVD. Cameron has worked with Cloud Ten Pictures, a company which produces Christian-themed films, and has starred in several of their films, including The Miracle of the Cards.
A cause close to his heart, Cameron and his family founded Camp Firefly, a camp for seriously ill children and their families. His speaking tour, Love Worth Fighting For, is a faith based marriage event held in churches across the country and has been hosted in over 150 cities so far. Read Less ^
