Biography
Maurice Stinnett is an internationally acclaimed leadership expert and one of the leading voices helping organizations navigate culture, change, and the future. With experience spanning higher education, sports and entertainment, corporate leadership, nonprofit organizations, and global strategy, Maurice has built a reputation for helping leaders and teams tackle complex challenges with honesty, clarity, and purpose. Known for his engaging and highly interactive style, he creates conversations that move beyond performative dialogue and toward practical, sustainable action that strengthens organizational culture, leadership, and long-term impact.
Over the course of nearly two decades, Maurice has led transformational work inside some of the world’s most influential organizations. He served as the inaugural Vice President of Diversity, Inclusion, and Culture for Brooklyn Sports and Entertainment, overseeing culture and inclusion strategy for the Brooklyn Nets, Barclays Center, New York Islanders, Nassau Coliseum, and Webster Hall. In that role, he launched the organization’s first diversity department, established employee resource groups, created mentoring initiatives, and built strategic partnerships that expanded opportunity and representation across the organization.
Maurice later became the inaugural Global Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Warner Music Group, where he built the company’s first global DEI team and developed a worldwide strategy spanning approximately 70 countries. He also served as the C-Suite representative for the $100 million WMG / Blavatnik Family Foundation Social Justice Fund and helped launch the music industry’s first DEI Institute, which earned the 2023 Music Cities Award for “Best Initiative to Support Diversity & Inclusion in Music.” Across every leadership role, he has advised executives, guided organizations through moments of change and crisis, and helped leaders better understand the connection between culture, accountability, communication, and organizational performance.
Before his work in corporate leadership, Maurice held senior leadership roles in higher education, including serving as Dean of Students at Central State University and later as Vice President of University Engagement and Chief Diversity Officer at Cleveland State University. His experience across educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and community initiatives shaped his people-centered approach to leadership and organizational transformation. Earlier in his career, he worked extensively in education equity and community engagement, helping expand access and opportunity for young people and families.
