Biography
Brian Rashad Fuller is a national education leader, author, and public speaker dedicated to addressing systemic inequities in America's schools. His acclaimed book, Being Black in America's Schools: A Student-Educator-Reformer's Call for Change, combines research and personal storytelling to expose barriers students of color face, revealing how racial bias, underfunding, school to prison pipelines and low expectations continue to limit opportunities for Black and Brown students.
Earning degrees from Emory University and Harvard Graduate School of Education, Fuller’s career includes an award-winning launch of The DREAM Program in Philadelphia, teaching at Success Academy Charters, and holding leadership roles with NYC Public Schools, where he co-led the creation of a $32M public-private partnership. He currently serves as Associate Provost for Strategy, Operations & Partnerships at The New School and is a member of the Harvard Graduate School Leadership Institute.
In 2025, Fuller launched his "Being Black in America's Schools Virtual Conversation Series," and a paperback edition of the book will be released on July 31, 2025 to mark its one-year anniversary.
Through his powerful keynote speeches and thoughtful commentary featured in media outlets like Forbes, The 74, Word In Black, The Tavis Smiley Show and others, Fuller offers guidance to help teachers, administrators, parents, advocates and students become agents for equity and change, and create learning environments where all students can succeed and flourish.
