Providing Health Equity to Achieve Quality Outcomes

As a country, we are spending more money on healthcare, while outcomes worsen. Healthcare is a service, but health is the goal. We must see beyond the service to identify all the influencers of health.  Our current models are unsustainable and inconsistent with our goal to be a healthy nation, equally for all. This is the most innovative time in healthcare as the industry expands beyond the traditional systems of hospitals and clinics. Dr. Wilder explores the modern-day relationship between health disparities and the social determinant of health. By delving into the impacts of issues such as housing, policy, practice innovations, food insecurity, community violence and economic instability, she will discuss how anchor community organizations can and are approaching a new era of population health though equity and community investment.
