He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Williams, AOA from UCSF School of Medicine, certified in Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology, authored 175 peer reviewed publications, & served 16 years on FDA advisory committees. He performed his residency in internal medicine at Harvard's Beth Israel Hospital and completed a tour of duty in the Public Health Service at the National Institutes of Health.
