Biography
Timmy Davis served as U.S. Ambassador to the State of Qatar from 2022 to 2025. A senior national security and foreign policy leader, he has held key roles across the White House, State Department, and in high-pressure international environments.
He previously served as Executive Assistant to Secretaries of State Mike Pompeo and Antony Blinken, and as Special Assistant to Secretary Hillary Clinton. His overseas leadership includes serving as U.S. Consul General for southern Iraq, with additional assignments in Guatemala City, Najaf, Canberra, and Bogotá.
In Washington, Ambassador Davis held senior positions including Director for Iraq at the National Security Council, Senior Watch Officer in the State Department Operations Center, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Special Presidential Envoy to Counter-ISIS, and Chief of Staff to the Under Secretary for Political Affairs.
He is the recipient of the Distinguished Honor Award, the Ryan C. Crocker Award for Outstanding Leadership in Expeditionary Diplomacy, and the American Foreign Service Association’s William R. Rivkin Award for Constructive Dissent.
Today, he is Founder and Principal of Davis Advisory Group LLC and serves as a Senior Advisor at Mavik Capital.
A native of Virginia, he considers New Orleans home. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama, served a decade in the United States Marine Corps, and speaks Spanish and Arabic.
