31 Mar 2015

“Know your body, protect your health” are words that APB speaker Samantha Harris lives by. In a Huffington Post interview, the former Dancing with the Stars host and TV personality shared how paying attention to her body and trusting her instincts allowed her to not only have a positive attitude, but survive her battle with breast cancer.

However, 11 days later, she noticed a lump in her breast. After pursuing additional tests, she was eventually diagnosed with breast cancer and bravely opted for a double mastectomy with reconstruction. One year later, she was cancer free. Crediting much of her strength to the network of survivors she met, Harris remarked: "It was a newfound level of support when I started to speak with other survivors... Knowing that they got to the other side, I knew that I too could get there." +Read Full Piece
