Daniel E. Dawes Announced as New Director of the Satcher Health Leadership Institute

Speaker, attorney and health policy expert Daniel E. Dawes has been named Morehouse School of Medicine’s Director of the Satcher Health Leadership Institute and Associate Lead for Government Relations. With this new position, Dawes will bring a forward-thinking approach to addressing issues that impact diverse populations in the complex health systems of urban and rural communities.
Dawes penned the best-selling health policy book, 150 Years of ObamaCare, focusing on health reform, health equity and mental/behavioral health. He was also an instrumental figure in shaping the Mental Health Parity Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act and the Affordable Care Act. Highly respected for his ability to achieve sound policy changes in a nonpartisan manner, Dawes is a sought-after speaker on health law, policy and management.
