Bridging the Divide
Alyssa Farah Griffin is used to being the only woman in the room and has spent her career fighting for a seat at the table. Now a co-host of ABC’s The View, where she literally holds the conservative seat, she often lectures on her time in the White House, the Department of Defense, and Congress working in male-dominated workplaces but rising to positions of leadership. Whether advising Four-Star Generals or the former President and Vice President of the United States, or meeting face to face with world leaders—including allies like NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg or foes like Russian President Vladimir Putin—she brings knowledge and experience as a woman who found her voice and seat at many tables, and she shows you how you can do the same.
For Alyssa Farah Griffin, accepting the role as former President Donald Trump’s White House communications director came down to one thing: public service. She had spent nearly her entire career as a public servant, including press secretary for the Department of Defense and deputy assistant to the Secretary of Defense, as well as press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence. When it came to working in the White House, she had no illusions about her new boss but felt called to serve her country when asked. “I felt convicted to go--even if I could marginally help,” she says. And that she did. During the tumultuous Trump presidency, she served in a number of key roles and ultimately became a leading critic of the former president. She was instrumental in helping gain critical testimony against the former President for the January 6th Select Committee investigating the attack on the Capitol. In this talk, Farah Griffin shares her journey and deep commitment to public service; why public service is so important to our democracy; and how all of us can make a difference.
Although we’ve come a long way when it comes to women in leadership roles—8.8% of Fortune 500 CEOs are female—there is still a lot of progress to be made. In this talk, Alyssa Farah Griffin outlines what we need to do to make it possible for a new generation of leaders to ascend, from women owning their power and supporting each other to the importance of mentors. She also shares her personal journey and how she fought for a seat at the table. Truly inspiring, you’ll leave with the tools to take your career to the next level and own your power, while helping other women make their dreams come true, too.
Operation Warp Speed has been called a miracle. And there is good reason for it. In less than a year, two commercial vaccines to fight COVID-19 were developed in a partnership between our government and private sectors. The typical timetable for vaccine development is about five to 10 years. Operation Warp Speed got the shot into American arms in less than 10 months. The result was thousands of lives saved. In this talk, Alyssa Farah Griffin details how the team was able to achieve this “miracle” and the leadership and strategy that made it possible. She also shares lessons that were learned and how we can use them in other areas of healthcare.
Alyssa Farah Griffin has served in some of the highest roles in the United States government and is the only person to have served as the top spokesperson for the President of the United States, the Vice President of the United States and the Secretary of Defense in one administration. She brings years of experience navigating high levels of government, as well as how it intersects with the private sector. She has emerged as a leading voice for bipartisanship and encouraging unity within the country. In this talk, she offers a unique perspective on how companies and individuals can navigate political polarization in this divisive moment in our country and small solutions that can help get things done.
Alyssa Farah-Griffin has served in senior roles in Congress, the White House, and the Department of Defense. She has been on the front lines of major legislative battles in Congress over the past decade and offers insight into what the American public, business community and both political parties can anticipate in split government in 2023 and beyond. She also regularly lectures on the future of the Republican Party in the post-Trump era.
