Known as one of the most influential experts on the science of high performance, APB speaker David Epstein uses past journalism experiences as a senior writer at Sports Illustrated along with research from his New York Times best-selling novel The Sports Gene to analyze the performance of Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes II. In an article from The Washington Post, Epstein attributes Mahomes II’s success to his talents as a multi-sport athlete. Epstein said that several studies have shown athletes who play multiple sports require less time to become elite in the game they ultimately choose. “[This] seems particularly to be true for athletes who play multiple ‘attacking’ sports.”
