Current and former Trump administration officials warn: “You don’t know Donald Trump like we do.” In an alarming op-ed in today’s New York Times, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Ron Suskind reveals the warnings of some two-dozen high-level Trump administration officials, including sources in law enforcement, intelligence, national security and at the Pentagon.
Suskind examines the many possible scenarios of an uncertain or contested election, including threats ranging from far-right and white supremacy groups to foreign adversaries using the internet to undermine the democratic process. According to Suskind, his sources, who spoke to him under the strictest guarantee of anonymity, are worried that the president could “use the power of government to keep himself in office or to create favorable terms for negotiating his exit from the White House.” The piece also reveals chilling backstory into the president’s personality, behavior and decision-making, portraying him as “that guy you saw in the debate.”
APB exclusive speaker Ron Suskind is a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist who has covered the presidency, national affairs, Washington and Wall Street for more than three decades. He is the author of six books, including, most recently, Life Animated, which became the subject of an Oscar-nominated documentary.
