Ruzwana Bashir grew up in a close-knit conservative Pakistani immigrant community in England. Her father sold produce at a stand, and she didn't know any women who pursued higher education or professional work. But Bashir went from triumph to triumph. She got into the University of Oxford, where she became president of the school’s storied debate society. She was a Fulbright scholar. She graduated from Harvard Business School. Ruzwana is currently CEO and Founder of Peek.com, building Shopify for experiences, with over $2 billion in bookings. Peek.com combines an award-winning marketplace for consumers with powerful booking/payment tools for businesses (Peek Pro). She has raised over $50 million in funding from investors such as Eric Schmidt and Jack Dorsey, and Forbes named Peek “America’s next travel unicorn”. She is a Young Global Leader for the World Economic Forum and previously worked at Goldman Sachs and Blackstone.
