Biography

Trish is proof that anyone can transform their lives and become the most successful person in the world. Trish climbed from the pit of despair and summited the peak of success, overcoming childhood sexual abuse, poverty, her mother’s mental illness, a crystal meth addiction and near suicide. Today, Trish inspires people everywhere to create enduring success and she provides a pathway there for all.

Trish exudes joy, love and enduring success. She makes audiences want to and believe they can create enduring success. Her climb from the pit of despair to the peak of success is astonishing; but her effervescent joy and boundless love are the unique and lasting gifts Trish imparts to everyone.

Imagine if every day you choose to give all your love and if every day you choose to receive all the love that others give you. What could that mean for your clients, your colleagues, your loved one, for you?

Trish is proof that true success—enduring success—comes from making THAT choice. We each have the power to make it and achieve enduring success, no matter our obstacles.

As a little girl, Trish’s ability to trust and love were destroyed by the person who daughters trust and love the most.

Trish was repeatedly sexually abused by her father from ages 6 to 13. Her mother suffered from mental illnesses that proved stronger than her maternal instinct to protect her daughter.

Her father forced the family to flee from town to town a dozen times to prevent anyone in the community from learning about the abuse. In every town, she was the new kid who struggled to fit in and find acceptance until she just stopped trying.  She never belonged anywhere.

In her early teens, Trish turned to the world of drugs, plunging headlong into a crystal meth addiction. She lied, stole, and exchanged her remaining dignity for drugs. At age 20, she chose to end her life.

One phone call from her sister changed everything. Trish’s first choice, to pick up the phone, launched her inspiring 25-year journey to enduring success.

Today:

  • Trish is a highly-regarded business executive.
  • Trish happily juggles the chaos, exhaustion, and complete joy of her life as a wife and mom.

As a little girl, Trish thought that she lost her ability to love, but during her 25-year journey to success she learned embracing love is a choice. Her enduring success is choosing to embrace her boundless capacity to give love and to receive love—every day.

Trish’s impactful approach helps organizations, teams, and individuals create enduring success, together.

As a pathway for all, Trish shares her journey from the pit of despair to the peak of success. Her story includes childhood sexual abuse, neglect and the destructive world of drugs that followed, but her speeches and workshops focus on the five critical choices she made on her journey to enduring success and the universal lessons we can apply on our journeys.

Trish brings candid stories, humor in the face of true hardship, simple lessons, compassion and love to all her speaking engagements.

True Success is Embracing Love

True success, enduring success, is choosing to embrace your boundless capacity to give love and to receive love. You can achieve enduring success, no matter your circumstance, experience or obstacles.

Trish inspires audiences to believe:

  • I have the boundless capacity to love and to be loved.
  • I have the power to choose whether to embrace it each day.
  • This power can never be taken away from me.
  • I can be the most successful person I know . . . and become right now!
  • I must inspire others to believe they can be too.

Choose & Become: Five Critical Choices to Enduring Success

Too often success is defined as being better than or having more than others; so it might seem foolish to believe you are the most successful person you know  or impossible to become that person.

Trish Kendall is proof that we each have the power to achieve true success—enduring success—no matter the obstacles. In this inspirational and highly motivating speech, Trish shares how.

  • Make the first choice
  • Commit to a two-way agreement
  • Build trust
  • Create community
  • Embrace love

Do the Little Things Great & Great Things Happen

Trish didn’t believe she could ever trust herself and she never believed any one could ever trust her. But, a year after she pulled the final needle out of her vein, she had landed the best job in the world.

She learned if you do the little things great, great things happen. She built trust in herself and inspired the trust of others by making good, small decisions each day.

How do we build trust in ourselves and inspire the trust of others? In this interactive session, Trish shows the power of committing to doing the little things great and what can happen if you do.

This is one of five critical choices Trish made on her journey to enduring success.

Get by Giving: Create & Nurture Community

Trish never knew community. As a little girl, her dad was deliberate in destroying community before it ever formed. Her father forced the family to flee from town to town to prevent anyone in the community from learning he was sexually abusing her. In every town, she was the new kid who struggled to fit in and find acceptance. Ultimately, she just stopped trying.

When she was 30 years old Trish had achieved more success than she could have imagined, but something was missing.  “I was friendly with everyone, but friends with no one. I didn’t belong anywhere.”

Although Trish had never run a step in her life, she joined a running club and met five women who showed her that forging true friendships and creating community starts by letting others in. She learned that you get by giving and created her place of safety, shared identity and belonging.

How does it feel to belong? How does it feel not to belong? How does community support your journey to enduring success? In this interactive session, Trish shows the power of giving and what we can get if we do.

This is one of five critical choices Trish made on her journey to enduring success.

Interview-Style Keynote

Oftentimes, Clients want to highlight their organization’s mission, agenda and impact through the voice of a special guest sharing a compelling story at their event–but this guest is not a professional speaker.

As the keynote, Trish interviews the special guest (or panel of guests), using her Choose & Become Five-Choice Framework to:

  • Help the guest tell a compelling and memorable story at the event; and
  • Provide the audience a framework that is easy to follow and remember; and
  • Offer the audience action that any one can apply in their lives immediately; and
  • Support the Client organization's mission and agenda; and
  • Create an environment of giving for a specific Call To Action at the event.

Example event guests: Program participants or program graduates, corporate partners, Diversity Inclusion and Belonging council members, donors, volunteers, local heroes, teacher-of-the-year, philanthropists, survivors, founders, board members, corporate sponsors etc.

Create Belonging: Personal & Team Development Session

Want to create belonging for your people? Exchange experiences.

Too often it can be hard to close the gap between wanting to create belonging and actually creating it.

That’s because belonging isn’t just an idea. It’s an action. It’s something you do. Belonging requires reciprocity. Only when someone values both what they give and receive from a group do they feel like they belong to it.

Because nothing is more valuable to us as humans than who we are, both at and outside of work, and our life experiences create those identities, one of the best ways to create belonging in your group is to create opportunities to exchange the individual experiences that make us who we are.

Guided Session:

In this interactive session we begin to share some of the experiences that make us who we are.

  • Trish shares her own inspirational story which creates the space and provides a framework for exchanging individual experiences with each other.
  • Trish then facilitates a guided discussion to apply this framework across our lives.

The session is designed to:

  • Practice exchanging experiences in a safe, structured and guided environment
  • Learn from and inspire each other
  • Promote personal reflection and action
  • Nurture and positively influence a community of belonging
