What if understanding civic life didn’t start in a classroom, at a meeting, or behind a screen, but right outside your front door? That’s the idea behind Power Walk, a new initiative from Citizen University in collaboration with The New York Times’ Headway Team. Co-founder, CEO and APB Exclusive Speaker Eric Liu helped launch this project as a simple yet powerful way for people to explore how civic power actually works—by taking a walk through their own neighborhoods.
We are excited to share that Chamique Holdsclaw, one of the most decorated players in women’s basketball history and an APB exclusive speaker, has been named a Finalist for the Class of 2026 by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. A three-time NCAA Champion at Tennessee, the No. 1 overall pick in the 1999 WNBA Draft, six-time WNBA All-Star, and 2000 Olympic gold medalist, Holdsclaw helped shape a generation of women’s basketball with her dominance, leadership, and competitive fire. The full Hall of Fame Class of 2026 will be announced April 4 on ESPN2 during Final Four Weekend.
Planning a successful event with the perfect keynote speaker can feel overwhelming. Between identifying the right voice for your audience, navigating contract negotiations, and coordinating countless logistics, the process demands time that many event planners simply don't have. This is where partnering with a speakers bureau like American Program Bureau (APB) and working with one of our dedicated, expert agents becomes invaluable.
Elizabeth Smart, who survived one of the nation’s most infamous child abduction cases, is telling her story in vivid, unfiltered detail in the new Netflix documentary Kidnapped: Elizabeth Smart, premiering January 21, 2026. At just 14 years old, Smart was forcibly taken from her Salt Lake City bedroom in June 2002 by Brian David Mitchell and his wife, Wanda Barzee. Over nine months in captivity, she endured repeated physical and sexual abuse, extreme manipulation, and emotional torment before being recognized by a member of the public in March 2003, leading to her rescue.
Every November on Veterans Day, we pause to recognize and bring awareness to the great physical and mental sacrifices our military makes to ensure our freedom. APB is proud to work with these sought-after leaders below and we thank them for their bravery and patriotism.
Journalist and women’s rights advocate Masih Alinejad welcomed the sentencing of the Iranian-backed hit team sent to kill her on U.S. soil—a moment she calls proof that the country she once was taught to hate has become the place that saved her life. The plot, orchestrated by agents aligned with Tehran, never succeeded, but the court’s decision to hold the perpetrators accountable in New York reinforces the strength of American legal protections and the rule of law. In her new op-ed for The Free Press, Alinejad writes, “Today, a judge will sentence the hitman Iran sent to kill me on American soil. It’s proof that the country where I sought refuge protects the freedoms I love.”
On Oct. 10th, APB is honored to celebrate World Mental Health Day. The goal of this annual event is to raise awareness of mental health issues and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health around the globe.
Every October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month invites us to honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and recommit to earlier detection, better care, and compassionate support. It’s also a chance to amplify voices that inform, inspire, and mobilize communities. At APB, we’re proud to work with speakers who transform experience into impact—bringing audiences insights, hope, and the courage to act. Below are three featured keynote speakers whose stories and advocacy illuminate what’s possible when perseverance meets purpose.
